Practising law can be challenging for anyone, but many racialized lawyers face additional barriers based on institutionalized inequality. Those barriers are not insurmountable, however, and professional success is indeed possible.Open to all lawyers, the 2019 Leading Change: Leadership Development Bootcamp for Racialized Lawyers, will offer lawyers of all backgrounds and at all stages in their careers, the tools needed to advance their career, build and leverage their support network and hone their executive presence. This one day exclusive event will be on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Toronto Board of Trade.
Come hear from senior and upcoming leaders in the legal profession (including CHBA members, Fernando Garcia, Isfahan Merali, and Wendy Lopez) who will share their personal insights and practical tips for professional and personal success in both plenary and small group breakout session formats.Attendees will come away with strategies to navigate a path to leadership, while also working to overcome systemic barriers. A social networking reception to exchange anecdotes, personal stories and takeaways from the conference will wrap up the day.For more information and to register, please visit: https://www.cbapd.org/details_en.aspx?id=na_lead19
