Job Description – Associate, Corporate Commercial LawyerDue to continued expansion, our client is seeking to add an Associate, Corporate Commercial lawyer to their team in Toronto. The ideal candidate will have between four to seven years of corporate/commercial and private M&A experience, including major sales and acquisitions of private corporations, complex shareholders agreements and corporate reorganizations. The ideal candidate will have strong drafting and technical sills, sound judgement and business acumen, and excellent practice management skills. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented lawyer to advise emerging companies, including numerous technology clients, and join a collegial and team-oriented law firm. Key Accountabilities and ResponsibilitiesAssist clients with private M&A transactions, including due diligence; draft, review, and negotiation of legal documents; and corporate reorganizations.Participate in and support business development activities, including client relationship management. Education and Professional Skills/KnowledgeLL.B. or J.D. degree (or equivalent).Good standing with a Canadian Law Society.4-7 years of corporate/commercial and private M&A experienceEffective practice management and superior client service orientation.
